Travel tips
The nearest international airports are Geneva (GVA) and Lyon (LYS). Another good option is Paris (CDG). For everyone arriving by public transit, the objective is Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux train station, which is about 25 km from Yenne. The ideal time of arrival in Chambéry is 4:30pm - 5:00pm. A bus will collect delegates from Chambéry-Challes-les-eaus train station to the venue. The bus time will be adjusted to best fit delegates arrival time. If you arrive in Clos des Capucins by your own means, check-in will open at 4:00pm (nothing will be possible before that).
Three possible international airports: Lyon , Geneva and Paris.
From Geneva International Airport:
Rail connection between Geneva International Airport to Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux. One short connection in Geneve-Cornavin central station. Travel time: less than 2 hrs.
From Lyon Saint Exupéry International Airport:
The best way to Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux is to take a bus (OUI Bus).
Travel time: 1 hr. Departure time: 1:30pm, 4:30pm(, 6:30pm if you cannot make it earlier).
From Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport:
There are two solutions:
1. Train from airport to Chambery-Challes-les-eaux with one connection in Lyon.
Departure: 11:57am. Arrival in Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux: 4:32pm.
2. Take public transportation from airport to Paris-Gare-de-Lyon (be aware that Paris-Gare-de-Lyon is a train station in Paris, not in Lyon! Sorry for that mess!).
Take RER B from airport to Chatelet-les-Halles, then RER D or A to Gare-de-Lyon train station.
Then take a train from Paris to Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux (possibly with one connection). Trip duration 2 hours 53 minutes by direct train, roughly 3 hours 30 minutes with a connection.
From Paris-Orly internation airport: take public transportation to go to Paris-Gare-de-Lyon train station (ORLY-VAL to Antony, then RER B to Chatelet-Les-Halles, then RER A to Gare-de-Lyon). Then take a train to Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux.
Return on Saturday, June 29. A bus will bring the participants from Clos des Capucins to Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux train station right after lunch. Precise schedule to be determined. You can safely plan your return trip as of 2:30pm from Chambéry-Challes-les-eaux train station. |
